Our chiropractor will review your paperwork with you as part of your initial consultation, so he can get to know your health history and current concerns before examining you.
What to Expect During Your First Visit
Your first visit is designed around listening and understanding rather than rushing into care. Our chiropractor will spend time hearing your story, answering your questions, and explaining what chiropractic care is and what it isn’t. He’ll help you understand how your nervous system controls everything from movement to digestion, and how reducing interference in that system can improve your overall function and resilience.
In most cases, Dr. Portillo does not perform an adjustment on the first visit. He wants to fully assess your condition and begin shifting your understanding of health away from the typical medical paradigm first. If you’re in an acute state of pain and need immediate relief, he may choose to adjust you that day. The initial appointment is about one hour.
